@Margara: This is the same beetle, different photo. (I really like both of them.) I ran around this poor beetle for almost 30 minutes. I can only imagine what some of the Sicilian "beech goers" thought about the crazy guy with the camera. If you want a print let me know...either one would look great in 8 x 10, or larger.
@Amalia: I can only imagine all the great desert critters in your backyard...maybe if I visit, I can walk around with Jo and look for scorpions. :)
